[00:00:42] Speaker B: Are you ready?
[00:00:59] Speaker A: All right, welcome back. Just almost hit a wrong button there.
[00:01:03] Speaker B: I heard it.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: But we are here, man. Super excited. You're actually listening this podcast, man. We have had step it of the jameth and it was an epic event. I'm sure, man. We're recovering from that. But, but no, Brad, I'm, I'm just, I'm always excited to get behind the microphone with you, man. And big shout out to the YouTube folks. Leaving comments, continuing to do that. I wonder, did you get any emails, man? Because, you know, got some emails. I sure did, yeah.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Let me dig here. But I sure did, man. We got a five star review from man, from our friend. Let me look here.
Well, anyway, okay, we got some emails, we got a five, we got a five star review on YouTube, man. And it's just good to see that the hard work paying off because, you know, we get on this podcast every week and try to do our absolute best not to just provide information, but hopefully some sort of transformation as well. So pouring our hearts and souls into this just so we can help others, man, that's. I think that's what life's all about.
[00:02:14] Speaker A: Absolutely, man, absolutely. And yeah, so continue to do so. We, we won't stop at just, you know, one or two goodies here and there. If you get it, leave us a five star review. You email Brad at. What is it, Brad Eager number two run dot com.
[00:02:31] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:02:32] Speaker A: Email Brad a screenshot of that review and you would. That's your chance to enter to win some bad goodies, man. Bad meaning good, you know, but bad, bad goodies, man. Bad goodies. You know, I don' normally do this, man, but you know, I was in the merch game a little bit myself. You know, when I signed on with E2M, you know, I let go of the fitness side of it, but I'm actually bringing some things back, man. And so that Actually goes to this hat that I got here. I'm bringing some things back, so be on the lookout for that, man. I'm. I'm excited about jumping back in that journey and just. Just being able to be creative and. And kind of fish fashion forward type thing. So just a little selfless plug right there.
[00:03:15] Speaker B: Hey, man, you gotta do it. You gotta do it. This is the bad podcast, man. You got to do it.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Absolutely. Absolutely, man. So, yeah, man, let's jump into it. Let's get into this. This. It's a good topic, man. Let's do it.
[00:03:26] Speaker B: Well, first and foremost, I'm. I have some weight on my shoulders because I had a grammatical error there. It's not Tapestry. It's Tapestry. But with that being said, you know, a lot of us like to hang out in that comfort zone. We don't like to, you know, press outside of that very often. And a couple of stories that I have that tie directly into this one. I'm from a small town up here in western New York, and we're actually known as Rodeo City. It's a little town called Gary, just similar to, you know, where you're from.
Small town, man. And so at the rodeo every year, there's an event called barrel racing, right? And they go around one barrel, they go around another barrel, they go around a third barrel, then they sprint it on home. And I brought my son to the rodeo for the last four years, but last year, he started to kind of catch on. And he asked me, he said, dad, why do they run into the shoots? Why do they run all the way through the gates? And I said, because if you start to slow down near the finish line, that's a sure way to lose.
[00:04:27] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: And. And he's just like, okay, can we go get some cotton candy now?
But. But whatever, dude.
I just dropped a nugget, Becca. And you want cotton candy, but use that in life, man. It's just like in baseball, they teach you to run all the way through first base for. For a reason. If you start to slow down prior to first base, you're going to get struck out. And the same thing can be applied to life, man. You start to slow down once you start to achieve, or once you start to accomplish the things you set out to accomplish, you start to slow down. That's a sure way to. To dig your feet in the ground, pour some concrete in it, and stay right there in your comfort zone.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Wow, man, that is. That is so good, man. Because I think about, you know, the days of running the 40, you know, back in, back in high school for me, you know, running a 40, I always tell you to run through. You know, I didn't make the baseball team, so I don't have, I do have the run through reference for, you know, when I played Dixie Youth and all that. But definitely, you know, when you're running a 40, you, you don't want to let up. And, and it's funny. So, man, so crazy. So it's Monday, but when we're recording, it's. It's Thursday. And a good friend of ours, son, he special needs, and so yesterday he had his first special needs, you know, Special Olympics. And, and that, that's what we were screaming like, run through the finish line. You know, don't, don't let up, man. And that's a whole beautiful story within itself, but just that whole mindset of, you know, hitting the target but actually shooting past the target. You know, what's, what's the old saying, you know, shoot for the stars, you know, you land on the moon or something like that. So it's just, you know, applying that when it comes to your everyday journey, you know, not just having a target, but, but shoot past it. You know, dream bigger. You know, Dr. Miles used to say, you know, if, if your dream don't scare you, it's not big enough.
Yeah. And then, you know, it goes along with just saying, you know, you fear it, chase it.
[00:06:23] Speaker B: So it's all, all ties together. It's, you know, it's like in the weight loss journey, you know, if you set out to lose £1, right. You're probably going to accomplish that.
[00:06:32] Speaker A: Right?
[00:06:32] Speaker B: Okay, great, Great. Right. But if you set out and if you fall short of £1, it's like, man, what, you're either, you're either stagnant or you're gaining weight. But if you set out to, to lose 50 pounds and you fall short of 50 pounds, guess what? You lose 40 pounds, 30 pounds, like that, there's no dropping a bucket. That's, that's a lot of weight. So you do got to dream big. And, you know, being in the run world, you know, another real life example, a real life reference. When you are running a race and you saw this firsthand a couple weeks ago in Charleston, they don't give you your medal right at the finish line. Where did it, where do you get crowned a champion? 50 yards, 20 yards down the road. Exactly. So you don't stop at the finish line. You don't stop when they say, hey, this is where your time stops. No, you have to keep traveling. And another real life example is this past weekend we had step jam. That's a target for a lot of people. But is that where you're going to slow down? Is that where you're going to stop? No, it can't be. Dwayne, you know this just as well as anybody. That happened to me and my iron man. I was an iron man. They crowned me, they gave me the cool metal, I did the flex, I got in the papers, I wrote a book, you know, but I slowed down and I stopped and I let that iron man define me. And I held on to that accomplishment for far too long. And again, folks, that's how you find yourself. Slipping and sliding, spiraling backwards, trying to gain traction. You don't know how to gain traction. Why? Because. Because you allowed yourself to hit that little cruise control button. You allowed yourself to be complacent. You allowed that last victory. And I've said this before, the only thing that worse than pass failure is past victory. Because a lot of us hold on to that for far too long.
[00:08:10] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that's, that's, that's, that's spot on, man. The, the. And that's the hard part is, you know, you, because we, we're not telling you not to celebrate. We're not telling you not to enjoy it.
You know, we're just telling you don't stop there. You know, don't let that be the end all. Be all. And that, that's a difference just in, in your journey is, you know, because you want to celebrate, you want to, you know, the achievement, the, you know what they call it? Popping, Whatever. What do they call it?
[00:08:41] Speaker B: Popping bottles. No, I'm talking bottles, man.
[00:08:48] Speaker A: I don't know. It's like popping frankincense. I don't know what it's like some kind of like celebrational. Somebody' know exactly what I'm talking about. I like drop it in the comments.
Popping bottles, legit too, but, you know, it's not, you know, you're going to enjoy that aspect of it, you know, the, the confetti and all of that. But, you know, knowing that Monday's still coming, you know, knowing that you still need to get up, you still need to do the things, and then you need to look for something else, you know, look for, for another achievement and, and what a lot of people miss is they try like, you know, or iron man. That's, you know, one of the, one of the top, of the top things to do. The next thing you didn't sign up Was. Wasn't for an ultra marathon. Like, it's. You don't have to, like, try to top your. What you just accomplished. Just continue to set goals. And, you know, Mandy, talk about small goals. Continue to set goals. You know, I had to shout out my wife, you know, she ran her first 10k, and all the way home, she was looking for, you know, races to run. Like, you know, she.
[00:09:48] Speaker B: And.
[00:09:48] Speaker A: But she wasn't looking for a marathon. She was like, okay, I'm gonna do another 5K. I'm doing that. You know.
[00:09:52] Speaker B: Right.
[00:09:52] Speaker A: It's just finding because. Because you don't want to get caught up in trying to top what you did last. I mean, that's great and cool, but moving up don't necessarily mean moving forward. And so, you know, I. I just throw that out there.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: 150 accurate. I'm a hockey guy, right? I'm a hockey guy. And sometimes to move the puck forward, you have to move the puck back. Back. Sometimes to take steps forward, you got to take steps back. And I think that's huge, D. Because people have this idea in their mind, I lost 50 pounds. Now what am I going to do? Am I going to lose another £50? Perhaps? You don't have to lose £50.
What area of your life are you going to improve on? Maybe your nutrition is not on point. Maybe your flexibility is not on point. Maybe you. Maybe you want to get better at reading or writing or lifting weight. You know, what is that next thing? And I mentioned this this morning on my live class, one of my treadmill classes, you know, life's gonna pass by one way or another, you know, and I. I like to paint images in people's minds. And you have this hourglass, and you flip the tube, the sand, the granules of sand start to fall. If you're on the couch, the sand's gonna fall. If you're up working as hard as you can, the sand is gonna fall. Whatever you do in your life, the time is passing. So. So what in the world are you doing? And it's so frustrating being in our line of work, Dwayne, because we hear these people complaining. Well, I'm not where I want to be because he. He won't let me go there. And we get there. Those are the people that aren't taking action, and those are the ones that had the loudest excuses in the.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure, man.
Yep. You froze up, though. But I was gonna save this for. For when you finish your statement. But, you know, some. Some people gonna remember this. This opening quote. To a show is like, like sand through the hourglass. These are the days of our Lives. That was a, that was a Philipper back in the day hourglass on there, man. But no, that, that spot on, man. No matter where you, what are you doing, what you are doing, no matter what, time is still going to keep going. Things are going to keep happening and, you know, it just, it's up to you which one you decide to lean into. You know, you can, you can stay on the couch. Time is going to be ticking. You know, you can, you can work out, you can walk, you can do the things, man. So it's super important that you, you utilize that time. It's precious. It's something you can't get back. It's something that you can't retrieve. Rewind. Believe me, I've, I've daydreamed about rewinding time and time machines.
Yeah, it's not happening.
[00:12:26] Speaker B: I mean, I mean, just having kids, you know, puts a real perspective into, into this. You know, I mean, I thought life was fast prior to kids. And once you have kids, man, it's just like, okay, don't blink. You wake up and I think it was Tim McGraw, man. You wake up, you're 35 and you. Yeah, you know, in all those things. But one of the things that I talked about also this morning was, you know, you're not always going to see your victories. You know, the streamers and the fireworks aren't going to be blown off. And every single time you, you hit a milestone or a mile marker and it's hard to sometimes recognize that you're winning in life because, because we have this idea that there are going to be streamers and there are going to be fireworks and we are popping the bottles every time we're victorious. But man, if you're waking up in the morning consistently, if you're really consistent with waking up at five in the morning or whatever time, what time is it early for you getting after it. Whatever time you're getting up, if you're consistent in that, that's a win. If you get up and get, you know, just by drinking your gallon of water in a day, that's a victory. Nobody's, nobody's popping bottles when you hit the gallon, right? Nobody's popping bottles because you got 30 to 60 minutes of cardio in. But those are all victories. You know, reading, journaling. These are all victories that aren't celebrated to the maximum. But don't, don't, don't downplay those moments because all those small Victories, man, they, they work out to the big victory. Win Smith. Win small. To win big. Win small. Win big.
[00:13:52] Speaker A: That's right. That's right. No, I love that, man. That's, that's, that's the way you have to do it, you know, I wish somebody would pop bottles, you know, when I get up, you know, you know that, that would be a good reel. Like, you know, you wake up like. Yeah. You know, you go, go to the bathroom. Yeah, I like it.
[00:14:12] Speaker B: You, you know, people are popping bottles at three in the morning. It's just because they haven't went to bed yet.
I went to bed. Yeah. I like that idea for a real though, man.
[00:14:24] Speaker A: Yeah, you celebrate everybody what's going on.
[00:14:28] Speaker B: I like that idea.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: Yeah. No, I mean it's, it's true. And, and to be honest, you can do that for yourself, like, mentally, like you can. You, you know, like, you, you hit that. You don't, you don't hit the snooze and you get up like, yeah, that's a win, man. You know, you get out the door, you know, you, you, you get out. Just getting out the door, man, that's, that's a challenge, bro. Because it's so easy to sit down when you're trying to get ready to go out the door. It's so easy, you know, I've been block blasting, you know, you know that it's so easy to. Because that, that's the worst, man, where like you get up at 4am, you get dressed and then you, you mess around and eat breakfast. You sit down, you scroll, you do whatever and then like, oh, how did it become 5:00 already?
[00:15:14] Speaker B: Right, right, right. And you know, the longer you sit there too, the heavier the way down your shoulder gets too. I, I talked about this recently in one of my lives. Procrastination does that, right? Everybody has a to do list. Like, it's inevitable. You have a to do list. And that one thing on that to do list has been there for a long time. And the longer that thing stays on the to do list, the harder it is to do that one thing. Like, we always have laundry on there. That one's pretty easy. Like, I, I hate laundry, but it gets done. I hate the dishes, but it's done. Like those things always get done, but it's that thing like, okay, fix the, fix the, the, the gutters over on the shed or whatever it is, right? And that thing's been there for like a year and a half. And every day you're looking at, you're like, I'll drop it down to 35. I'll drop that one down to 40, you know, and it keeps on dropping down on the priority list. Yeah, man, but the longer you procrastinate. Procrastinate. Boom. You. That weight, man, you can feel that weight. Literally.
[00:16:12] Speaker A: You don't forget about it either, you know, back your mind, you know, keep you up. You know, there's a certain thing. Look, I. I'm feeling that right now, like, as you say that I'm thinking about the things that keeps me up. That's back in my mind, you know, But. And. And the. The solve all is. Is getting it done, man. Yeah. Biting the bullet, getting it done, you know? You know, doing the uncomfortable thing. For sure.
[00:16:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Any. Anytime you have that feeling or that sense of, I don't want to do this, you know, you have to have one of those three.
[00:16:53] Speaker A: Oh, I'm away for you this time. 369.
[00:16:57] Speaker C: There you go.
[00:16:59] Speaker B: You have these three, six, nine moments. You. You just pause in your life and you recognize that you don't want to do it, but you understand that it will give something back to you. So that has to be a cue. I don't want to do this, but I know I have to do it. I don't want to go fix the gutters, but I know I have to do it. Speaking of which, I should probably go get the gutters fixed.
[00:17:19] Speaker A: You said the gutters twice, so I.
[00:17:20] Speaker B: Think that that's high priority.
It's been there for far too long.
[00:17:27] Speaker A: Gotcha.
[00:17:28] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:17:28] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that. That's. That's so true, man. That's so true. All right, man. What. What else we got before we start to. To land this plane, man? I know how you do.
[00:17:37] Speaker B: Yeah. So, you know, guys, coming off the tail end of Step Jam Columbia, Step Jam south, just extremely proud of this community for stepping up and stepping in it. It's. It's everybody that's stepping up. But to step in the game, that's a big deal. And a couple of things that we did this past weekend. One, we raised thousands of dollars for the Souls for Souls, our eager sneaker project with the Souls for Souls. And what that does is every $20 that we raised goes to a brand new pair of shoes that we can put on a young individual's feet in our country. Thousands of dollars. We raised. Excellent work. Hundreds of pairs of shoes donated. Excellent work. We donated 25,000 dol. Or twenty five hundred dollars to the women's shelter. Guys, we're just trying to make an impact here. We're trying to do good and it's hard to do that, especially. Especially when you're always doing the behind the scenes work. You're not trying to get a pat on the back, you're not trying to get the claps. You're not trying to do any of that. You're just doing it for a good cause and a good reason. Guys, we're not done. Step Jam New Jersey is in July, July 19th. Step Jam north is in Sewell, New Jersey on July 19th. We're still raising funds for Souls for Souls. We're still collecting the new shoes. We'll be making a local donation to a women's shelter or a kids shelter, but make sure you get involved. Our mission, our eager sneaker project, our chance to make an impact is not done. We are just getting started. So I just wanted to shout out the community, the Fit Fam. Somebody's blowing up on the other side of the screen. I love it, man. So just wanted to say I'm proud of our. Our Fit fam, how you guys are stepping up and stepping in where we need you. So just appreciate you guys.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: Absolutely, man. Big shout out to everybody and. And yeah, New Jersey's next. July 19th is actually my wedding anniversary. So we'll be celebrating with you guys. Yeah, bottles, baby. All right, y'all, so we're gonna end out with this, this commercial break type thing, but until next time, we will see ya.
