[00:00:01] Speaker A: What up? What up? What up? Welcome back to the Bad Podcast. Brad and Duane and who? My brother, Brad. Bradley. Talk to me, brother. What are we talking about today? [00:00:09] Speaker B: Let's talk about sparks. Remember that first day, pulling up to the parking lot of your dream job, Butterflies in your stomach, buzzing with energy. You walk through those doors, determined to prove yourself. Every moment had meaning. Now maybe it's 10, 15, 25 years later, the butterflies are gone. The office is familiar. What's that? That's your dream job. Where'd the spark go? Let's talk about that today. [00:00:32] Speaker A: My dream job is work from home, but let's get it. [00:00:40] Speaker B: Are you ready? Are you ready? [00:00:57] Speaker A: What it looked like, Would it be like? What it do? Happy Monday to you and yours. Welcome back to the Bad Podcast. Brad and Dwayne. Another excellent episode, man, and super excited to get in here. Me and Brad, we record these usually the week before. It depends on what. What our schedule is like. And this time, you know, it's at the end of the week. Except for us, but. But we bringing that Monday energy, baby. We bringing that Monday. Getting it started. And. And Brad, no, I am trying to speak myself into that mind frame because we're not there right now, but you're there and we're there with you, man. So super excited about this episode. Always, always, always. Love to start the show by shouting out, you guys, we listen, man. We see you, we see the posts, we see the tags. We love it, we appreciate it. We just want to continue to. To encourage you guys to share about the Bad Podcast, man. If you're getting some out of it, Brad, you know, I am. I worked in sales, B. And I did, you know, recruiting, but I could never sell a product or I could never recruit for a company I didn't believe in. Right. So you only. I don't. I'd say do that if you believe in it, man. So Shane is calling me, but anyway, Brad, what you got going on, man? [00:02:11] Speaker B: I don't. I don't know. May. He's trying to get a hold of both, but she's texting me for something, something, but I can't see it. But, you know, you talk about speaking things into existence, man, and just trying to get yourself into that frame of mind, and that's what we're doing today, man. So, like, so this is Friday, you know, you're. You're going through yours, I'm going through mine. I got 50 miles today. I did 75 miles yesterday. Like, I'm somebody that takes care of my hair and look at my hair. Like I look like I just walked out of bed. And, but speaking things into existence and, and just convincing yourself that, hey, man, maybe today is going to be a grind, maybe today is going to be hard, but finding yourself getting back to your roots and finding that spark again. And today I want to kind of just, just speak to E2M and, and why E2M was successful for so many years. The, the ongoing question that I continue to get even today is what's, what's the secret sauce with E2M? Is it the meal plan? Is it the exercise? Like, what is it? Is it the coaching? As much as I'd like to say it's the coaching. It's all the coaching. It's the community, man. It's, it's that support system. And you know, far too often we downplay that support system. You know, like, who are you rocking with? I, I know a handful of people that are caught up in, in, in drugs, and it's because the people that they're rocking with, that's what they're doing. Like, it's so easy to fall into that entrapment of this is what my friends are doing. That's just natural. That's like the, the natural pull for me. So I'm going to go in that direction. And I want the folks that are listening to this, I want you to take some inventory of the folks that you're running with, like, who you rocking with and what are they doing on a daily basis, like, when you're not around. What are they doing when you're not around? That's probably where you're naturally going to flow with the activities and the, you know, the actions and decisions that they're making. That's probably the tendency you're going to, you're going to have with your life when you, you know, take that outsider's perspective. Perspective. Hey, this is what, like, I, I, I, I hang out with a lot of people that work out. What am I naturally going to be pulled towards? You know, like, I, I see you posting. Dwayne. Well, Dwayne worked out today. I got to get my workout. Jeff worked out today. I got to get my workout. So just take an inventory this weekend or. Yeah, this week. So it's gonna be Monday. Take an inventory this Monday and see who you're rocking with and what kind of activities they're into. [00:04:27] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that's, that's super important. And, you know, we see it, we talk about it a lot, about the circles and who you hang with and how how that's important. And I know we're going to dive more into the E2M aspect of it. You know, the. I. I blame me being in prep with Eric, keeping me in the group chat with all the other bodybuilders. Like, I blame. I believe, you know, me taking on another show because, you know, being around those guys just, you know, make me still interested in and still still want to pursue it. But I do want to say this, Brad, man, because some people and I. I think me and you are similar in this. Some people are the influencers, you know. Some people, you know, although the circle might not be, you make your circle become that because of you and I. I've witnessed that, you know, especially with E2M. When I started, you know, it was just me and my wife, and then I, you know, I shouted it from the rooftop, man. And I. I literally, you know, humble brag, man. I put my area on the map when it comes to. I mean, definitely, I know the bo. The Barmore is there for sure in Jamestown, you know, but it, you know, and I watch my circle. Like, people that I. I run with, they make that shift because of what. What happened with us, man. And so, you know, we always talk about, you know, finding the friends. Sometimes you're that friend. Sometimes you're the one that can. Can be the. The spark. Back to the theme then. The spark that actually gets everybody else going. [00:06:09] Speaker B: Yeah. And I think people even downplay that. Like, a lot of people, they don't want to accept that role because that. That role is actually kind of scary. Jeff mentioned. Mentioned to the. Whoa. Mentioned this to me about six months ago, about a year ago, about David Goggins. Like, Gogs, like, he set himself up for a platform where, like, if he. If he takes some time off, people start talking. Like, it's rumblings like, hey, Goggins fell off. Goggins ain't doing it anymore. Like, he just did that 200 miler, like, less than a month ago, and he crossed that finish line. He flexed at the finish line, and he made a post about. He's like, hey, just because you don't see me working don't mean I'm not working. But some of us are afraid to accept that platform because we don't want to be on a stage. And it takes a lot of. A lot of responsibility to be on that stage. But I think it's a. I think it's a neat stage to be on, because when you're on that stage, it's not just about your shared Wins. It's about your shared struggles. And I think that's what sets a lot of people aside, is when you start talking about struggles, it's that relatability factor. Oh, wait. Brad struggles through a bike ride like, he does. Like, you don't. You don't see my struggles on a bike. Why? Because I post a picture at the end. Oh, I'm happy. Boom. I snap the shot when I'm done. Hey, 70 miles complete. I'm good. And. But when you. Yeah, right. Boom, there it is, man. I'm like a 75, 1975 poster child there. Golly. And. But, you know, we don't see those struggles. And then we just had this. This idea in our minds that, oh, Goggins is just built different. Goggins is just built that way. Yeah, he. He might be built different. Like, it might be, like, deeply ingrained in his DNA somehow, some way. Like, people are born naturally. More gifted in some ways than. Than others. But, man, if you've ever seen his work ethic. Ah, you want to talk about. Golly, there's. There. There's. There's a. There's Division 1 athletes that can't lick his toes. There's professional athletes that can't lick his toes. And he's put them through the. Hey, remember that one lady we had? I can't even think of her name right now. She was the foot expert. [00:08:13] Speaker A: Yeah, I remember. I follow on Instagram, she'd probably be. [00:08:16] Speaker B: Happy about this conversation. [00:08:17] Speaker A: Not licking no toes, though. [00:08:19] Speaker B: Hey, if you clean your toes, they should be clean. [00:08:22] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. All right. No, no, you're right, man. That being in that spot, it does put you in the spotlight. And honestly. And I. I say it all the time when I tell my, you know, my story. I. I equate my success with being in that spot because. Because I was bringing these people in because I was being the influence. It made me like, hey, I gotta show up. You know, I can't tell these people about this program. And then I not do it. You know, I can't tell these people, you know, to drink a gallon of water. And I not do it. I can't tell these people to eat this, you know, the meats and veggies and healthy fats. And I myself not do it, man. And so putting yourself there, it. You know, it puts pressure on you. But, you know, good pressure. Pressure makes diamonds pressure. You know, there's a lot of things, good things come out of putting a little pressure. And we talk about that on this show, man. So yeah, you're absolutely right. You. You have to be willing to. To open yourself up, you know, to be viewed, you know, because, you know, when. Especially with. When E2M the glory days. With the glory days, you know, you mess around and, and, and you have too much peanut butter on your spoon, you know, or, you know, something like that, and you show somebody, like, wait a minute, you know, that's too much. Or I remember one time I had posted some almonds, and I said, wait a minute. Them almonds got sugar in them, like the flavor joints, you know, you. You open yourself up for people to, you know, to, to criticize. And you, you know, you have to be willing to accept it. And then again, like you mentioned, show when you fail. I, I have zero issue, zero issue showing people when I fail, man. Mainly because I feel like, you know, I've been gifted in so many areas, man, that. And sometimes feel like I win effortlessly. So I'm like, hey, let me show you. It's not like that. You know, there's some work that goes involved. [00:10:24] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I like where you went there. And I was just listening to something or reading something recently, and it says you're only one degree or one from not losing. Like, you're gonna lose, and you're gonna lose, and you're gonna lose, and you're gonna lose until you don't lose until you win. And I think that's. I think that's a component of that pressure and applying that pressure intentionally to your own life. Because a lot of us, we wait for. We wait for the universe to apply pressure. We wait for a boss to apply pressure, and then all of a sudden we're, like, spiraling out of control, wondering, why me? Then we start playing the victim. We start playing the blame game. Like, hey, why can't I catch a break? Like, Dwayne, why can't I catch a break? Like, so. And so the reason you ain't. You're not catching a break is because you're not applying the pressure to your own life. And pressure does a lot of great things. It does a lot of great things. And one of those things is it encourages innovation, you know, and into. The example that I want to use is you do a lot of traveling every. Every other week you're in Charlotte, you're. You're down there recording, and it creates an. An avenue for you to get creative. Like, you know, you could. You could very easily say, you know, I'm not a member down here at the Charlotte gyms. And that's my. That's my scapegoat. That's my out. I'm not a member down here. But you find ways. You work out in the, in the studio gym. Sometimes you're working out at Planet Fitness. Sometimes you're finding ways. And I remember way back a friend of ours, a former colleague, he invited me into his own home and he invited you into his own home. And I actually got a workout in his own home. And you find ways to be innovative, you find ways to be creative. That's where pressure comes in. Like, you place that pressure intentionally on yourself and, and you're going to find ways to make it happen. And I like, I like where you went with the almonds too, because I used to rock the cinnamon. Cinnamon boys. [00:12:13] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:12:14] Speaker B: Oh, I, I could eat, I could eat those by the bag. [00:12:17] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:12:18] Speaker B: Yeah. But they, they were just packed with sugar. [00:12:21] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. My, my were the, the honey, the honey flavor. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:12:27] Speaker A: You know, those are so dangerous. Like, I definitely can't mess with them now on Macros, man, because it'll be like on another professor when he woke up on the couch. That would be me. Boy, if I get some of them bad boys, you know, and it's funny because I, I have my, I have my post show list of things I want to eat and I might have to add them almonds. I had to add them to the rotation. Yeah, but no, man, going back to, to making it happen. You know, I just had this conversation with my wife, you know, because she, she's trying to get back on, you know, just kind of solid eating or whatever. You know, everybody, everybody get that time where they kind of lack off a little bit. And, and she was like, I don't know how you do it, you know? You do. I was like, babe, you just gotta make you. There's. For me, there's no choice, right? Like, I don't, there's no option to not do for me. Like, I gotta figure it out. If I didn't prep my meals, then I'm on Chad gbt. Hey, how many calories is in this? You know, I'm driving down the road. I'm, I'm calculating, I'm thinking. I'm like, okay, the bathroom is at the end of this road because I drunk all this water. [00:13:41] Speaker B: Like everything. [00:13:42] Speaker A: You know, you have, you have to man. [00:13:43] Speaker B: Innovation. [00:13:44] Speaker A: You got, you have to know what's going on. You, you have. And, and that's just where my mind is all the time. Like how, how to make it happen, you know, before I go to bed. I'm, I'm thinking about today, the following day's meal, every, every evening. Like I plan the night before. I don't do a lot of, you know, a whole lot of prep at the beginning. I plan the night before and I'm thinking about it and I'm like, okay, what's for lunch? What's for dinner? What do we have in the freezer? What do I need to get. And you make stuff happen, man. And, and, and his thing. Brad, the main people that asked me that, I can promise you I can find something in their life that they're passionate about that they make happen. It could be, it could be the kids. You know, God bless the kids, we love them. But I promise you, if that's your, if that's where your passion lies, you're going to make something happen. That, that impossible schedule to some people outside of you, they were like, man, no way I could be at soccer practice, pick up, cheer about, you know, all of those things. But you, you make it happen. [00:14:44] Speaker B: Yep. [00:14:44] Speaker A: That's how I feel about my health and my fitness. That's how Brad feel about his goals and that. That's the difference. You have the capability. You just, just focus somewhere else. And not saying, take it away from that. Just letting you know it is possible. [00:14:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Time, time management, you know, in, in, in, in forecasting what the next, next day is going to bring. Like, especially in, in today's world with so much technology and like schools doing a really nice job of saying this is what the day is going to look like. This is what your kid is doing. All right, so you have, you have the day that starts at 8:30 in the morning. You know, the kid gets out at 3. You know, you got soccer practice at 3:30. Like you, you can forecast the game now with technology. And you're exactly right. Like, I don't know how I get up in the morning and do my bike ride and then I get my kid to school and then I, you know, work on this and then I pick my kid up and then it's okay. Time management and even, even, even resource management. Like, you know, like right now, Dwayne, you, I don't know if you know this, I think you do, but my wife and I, we only have one vehicle. Like that's resource management. It is extremely hard, but with some intent and some real good forecasting, like, oh, today I got to do this, this, this, this and this. Adrian, what do you got to do? This, this, this, this and this. Okay, between these times, I'm going to do that between these times you do this and then, and then we align with that schedule. But far too many people just aren't willing to do that. Like everybody's, everybody has a capability of doing that, but they don't have that uncommon willpower or willingness to do those things and to prepare themselves. It ain't no fun to prepare, like plain and simple. It just isn't fun to prepare. It's not fun to forecast. Like, I'm looking at my weekend, okay. I got 75 miles on Saturday. That's going to take me about three and a half hours. Okay. So I got to a lot three and a half hours. Like when am I going to do that? Well, first and foremost, I'm going to wake up at 3:30. I'm going to knock out 25 to 30 miles in the morning and then I only have 45 miles to spread out through the rest of the day. But again, forecasting, preparation, like, you know, seeing, having a vision like that stuff just ain't fun. And, and I think that's why a lot of people, a lot of people lose and a lot of people, you know, spiral. It's because we just, we don't have that uncommon will to, to forecast what we want. [00:17:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And going back, I think everybody has the capability. Oh yeah, because I remember it sounds bad, but in my heavier days, I could always find a snack, bro. Like I could always find a snack. Even if it was a makeshift snack, even if I was in there coming up with something, I could always, if I, if I wanted to scratch that sweet tooth itch, I could find a way. Like we, we eating a piece of peanut butter. We, you know, we're gonna put some water and some, some, some cake mix, you know what I'm saying? Like we, yeah, I'm telling you, the, the, the, the, the ability is there. You just have to point it in the right direction. You have to focus on the right things, man. Every, I think that's something that we're all blessed with, with the, you know, resilience is there and the ability, you know, to make, to, to really focus in and make stuff happening. It's just. What is, what, what's, what is your focus? What, you know, it's funny, but it's not. But one, one of the memes that was going around was like, you know, you know, crackhead, wake up. And if they ain't got crack, they don't just be like, oh well, ain't got crack. They're gonna go and they're Gonna make it happen. It's sad to say, you know, no hate, no, you know, any family members? No, none of that, none of that. But it's real. They're gonna make it happen because it's a driving force and it's something they want to make. Y' all don't come at me over that. [00:18:32] Speaker B: That dude, that, that is, that is so extremely powerful. Because, you know, it is sad to, to think about it that way because these people are deep in addiction. But I think, you know, I think you can have positive addiction, you can have positive habits and behaviors like Gary Vee talks about. Become obsessed with the process. They just become obsessed. And I think, you know, another thing, I think people really, they, we get so fascinated by the destination and the goal and the milestones and the outcomes that we fail to become obsessed and we fail to, you know, put in the efforts today because we're just, you know, you talk about forecasting and I know this is kind of like a double edged sword. Like you need to forecast the future. Like you want to predict the, the future you gotta, you know, be engaged in today. But instead of forecasting the future, we want to live in the future. You can't live in the future. You got to live right now. But you can, you can, you can, you can anticipate what it's going to look like. But to forecast and predict the future and put all the puzzle pieces in place, you got to be really intentional today. And like you said with the whole, with the whole addiction thing, like if somebody don't have crack and they're addicted to crack, they're going to find crack. [00:19:47] Speaker A: They're going to find it, bro. [00:19:49] Speaker B: They're gonna, they're gonna find crack. And I, I don't know if I'm addicted to, to my bike. As a matter of fact, every morning I get up and I'm like, but I find myself on that bike because I'm trying to predict the future. Like I, I can already see the bit. Like we talked about this last week or two weeks ago. Like, I'm already seeing my takeoff. There's going to be kids, my kids are going to have their little bikes there at five in the morning and, and, and there's gonna be a send off. There's gonna be police officers and firemen. All this, all this. I already see it. And then I see myself in Florida, Orlando, Florida, because there's already probably 50 people that are already saying, hey, I'm going to meet you in Florida. I can see it. But none of that's going to come to fruition without finding my. Not crack, but my bike. Find yours Legit, man. [00:20:40] Speaker A: That's the name of this episode. [00:20:44] Speaker B: I'll be a bikehead for life. [00:20:46] Speaker A: Oh, man. But see, I. Y'. All. Y' all forgive me, because I saw a video the other day, and the guy was like, hey, any crackheads out here? He's like, man, crackheads, crack body. It's the whole body out here. Oh, we're cooked. But anyway, no. So, you know, it's funny because I'm. I'm not, like, I'm not addicted to lifting weights, but I think I'm. I'm addicted to, you know, chasing goals or. Or being successful. You know, I'm. And, you know, lifting waste is part of the goal that I have right now, you know, And I think, like, I think with you, you know, you're. You're addicted to, you know, just challenging yourself and. And. And doing stuff and raising money, because that's another part of it. You know, I remember you had. You got goals for that. And I think the bike is just a means to, you know, just. This is where you. This is where you're at right now. It's not necessarily that you're addicted to the bike, but it's things making an impact. Addicted to making an impact. That's. That's your addiction, but it's. It's that. That's the driving force that, you know, that gets you up whenever you don't feel like getting up, you know, that. That keeps you on the seat, man, you know, and. And everybody has something. Everybody has something. You just. You got to determine what that something is and what. What direction that you're going. But, no, I really like this discussion, man, because I think it resonates with a lot of people, just understanding, you know, where you are in your. In your. In your journey and your path, and then just kind of figuring out, you know, what. What is your addiction? What. What's the thing that you. That drives you and pushes you? And. And then if it's not something. If it's. If it's not just something positive or if it's something that you can't use positive means to get to, then take the time to evaluate it and see where you are. [00:22:44] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. 100. And just to speak to that mission, I think the mission is sort of like that. That overarching thing, and then you have several different components or several. Several different tools that you extract and apply to get to that mission. And like you said, like, mine is the impact, like I want to make an impact in my life, and I do have a really big mission and a goal, but that goal is not going to just happen overnight. It takes a lot of preparation, and it takes a lot of action and decision. So, yeah, this was a great discussion. Hey, so I want to start ending the podcast in a completely different way. And so I don't know where I saw this. I just saw this somewhere, and it was a thing on Facebook, I think, and it was, how far would you go? And we can apply it to snacks, because that's what we sort of talked about today. How far would you go? Or how much would you pay doordash to go to. To get you. What's your favorite snack? [00:23:44] Speaker A: Reese's. [00:23:44] Speaker B: Reese's. Okay, so how, how much would you pay on one of those days? Like, hey, man, like, today's one of those days. I need a Reese's. How much would you pay doordash? Or how. How far would you travel to get yourself a Reese's? Like, how. What would be the standard in Dwayne's world? [00:23:59] Speaker A: Okay, all right, y' all, don't judge me. All right, so as far as getting a Reese's, it, it has to be the, the value pack. [00:24:10] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, you gotta. I'll go with the value. [00:24:13] Speaker A: I think I would spend on doordash. I think I, I drop at least 20 on it, man. 20 is like my love that, my Internet threshold. Like, if it's above 20 bucks, I think twice. I don't care what it is. [00:24:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:29] Speaker A: Even when I'm looking at cigars, like, yeah, so I do that. I'll spend that now to drive for it. Y' all gotta understand, I'm in the. I'm from the country, man, and to us around the corner is an hour away. So let's put some context on it. So, so to drive for. I probably would drive. If the sole purpose was to get a recession, I probably would drive. I don't know. I probably drive about 30 minutes, man. [00:25:00] Speaker B: Yeah, 30. 30. All right, all right. So mine, mine. Mine would be pizza. [00:25:06] Speaker A: Okay? [00:25:07] Speaker B: And so this just happened to me recently. I had one of those days. So I, I put on 125 miles within 24, 24 hours. And I was just like, I want some pizza. And the pizza place that I like is quite a ways away. See, for me, I'm all about convenience. I, I, I, I just don't want to go into my car and then have to go somewhere. So I, I won't drive. I, I won't drive for that thing. I'll. I'll. I'll find my. I'll find my hand in the chip bag or something, but. But I paid. Oh, man, this is kind of hard to say. So I paid $43 the other day for not. It wasn't a large pizza. It was like. It wasn't a personal boy, but it was like in the middle. It was like a medium pizza. 40. 43 bucks for a little medium pizza. Put down the entire thing in one sitting. Felt like crap after, but 43 bucks, that did me in for a medium sized pizza. [00:25:57] Speaker A: Okay. I ain't gonna judge it too hard on that. [00:26:01] Speaker B: No judge zone. [00:26:02] Speaker A: This is judgment free, man. Judgment free. So, hey, do we want to open it up to the folks, man? Put it in the comments. [00:26:10] Speaker B: I think we should. Absolutely. How far would you travel for your treat? Your. Your desire? But it has to be. Don't get too funny with the desires. We want candy or food or drink like that. We don't need to know anything about anything else. [00:26:27] Speaker A: All right, so listen, I'm gonna do one more. I mean, we might do it again, but. Yeah, I love chicken and waffle. And you know, I said that I love chicken and waffle. [00:26:35] Speaker B: That's my weakness. [00:26:36] Speaker A: I would spend $50 on DoorDash. Forget the 40. I'll take it up to 50 on DoorDash. And I would drive probably an hour, hour and a half for a good chicken and waffle spot. [00:26:49] Speaker B: We found. We found some common ground there because I would probably. I'd even raise the ante. I. Because, I mean, I've had some. That one place that you and I went and Jeff and I don't remember who the fourth was, but we had chicken and waffles. And that was some of the best chicken waffles I ever had in my entire life. I would pay probably 75 to have that on my doorstep in. In 45 minutes. As far as the driving piece for chicken, for a good chip, I told you, the chicken waffles up here in New York is not that good. [00:27:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:16] Speaker B: Not travel, but if I was in Charlotte or somewhere down south somewhere, I would travel. I would travel an hour. Yeah, yeah. Open it up. Common ground. [00:27:27] Speaker A: I love it. [00:27:28] Speaker B: We want to hear your answers. Let us know in the comments. [00:27:31] Speaker A: Let us know what your. Your. How much you would spend and how far will you travel for your food desire. Keeping that clear. Hidden food desires. But no, man. Super dope. Super dope episode, man. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Let us know in the comments. Again, keep sharing, man. And Bradley, in this out of here, brother. [00:27:58] Speaker B: Hey. We want to know those desires. But don't let those desires derail your common mission. [00:28:04] Speaker A: Amen to that. Until next time. [00:28:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
